Adrianne's Naturals

Adrianne's Naturals creates self care and home spa products by combining ingredients that nature has provided specifically to heal our hair, skin, and mind in order to restore its healthy state.

Adrianne's Naturals on Yoga for All

Yoga has recently started to make an impression on the Black community as more and more people are making it the norm to be attentive to your mental and spiritual health. I, too, have started to incorporate yoga into my workouts: dedicating one day a week to reset my mind and body.

Adrianne's Naturals on Social Change

When it comes to social change in the Black community, I feel this year has opened up the eyes of the younger generations to the possibilities of becoming business owners, and the importance of being supportive and loyal to existing and developing Black businesses.

Monique’s POV on

Yoga

I have always viewed yoga as my time to be still and observe all that’s going on inside. To say the least, that is not always an easy thing to do but once you ease the resistance and take a moment to drop into your body there is so much healing that happens. Yoga has been a lifeline for me through sadness, depression, happy times, and my strongest moments. The wonderful thing about yoga is there is no competition because your body and journey is uniquely yours. I enjoy the power I feel when I’ve finished a tough vinyasa flow and the calmness and grounding after a yin session. Yoga has always been there for me, and always will be, because yoga is me. Yoga is each and every one of us.

Social Change

The current climate of the country has been especially tough with the countless murders of black and brown bodies at the hands of the police. On top of the trauma from seeing people who look just like you and the ones you love being brutally murdered we are in the middle of a pandemic. The fear of what the future holds can be so crippling and that is why I think it is important to allow yourself time and space to feel all the things you feel.

Health and Wellness

Health is the key life ingredient in my opinion. My father actually calls it “preserving his vessels” for as long as he can. I love how cool that makes it sound. Health and wellness is the foundation to everything we do. If you don’t have the proper fuel to run your car it can’t run, or will run pretty poorly. It also can be intimidating, confusing, and frustrating, but that is where patience and understanding for yourself needs to come in. Take it one baby step at a time and be intentional with what your goals are, and use the resources at your disposal to get you closer to those goals.

Brittany’s POV

Social Change

Social change is so important. I am so proud of the headway we've made in bringing awareness to social injustices in the last few years. We are really starting to have the tough conversations about inequality in a lot of our systems. I think we are in the buddings of another civil rights movement.
Health and Wellness

A healthy mind and body makes me feel the most confident and in control of my life. Health is truly of the highest currency. It's hard to enjoy life when you aren't  physically and mentally well!
Yoga

Yoga is an all age activity, which is amazing. The sounds, sensations, the calm, the breathing are all very relaxing.  Learning to live in every tiny moment is a priceless skill.  Everyone can benefit physically and mentally from yoga.

My products include 3d mink eyelashes , beauty mirrors, eyelash glue , eyelash applicators & my brown sugar body scrubs .

I think it’s important to take care of your body not only inside but out , I think meditation & yoga or any form of physical activity is just as important as cleansing your physical impurities away , which is why I created my very own brown sugar scrub because I wanted something free of chemicals to help which my over all cleaning process , I think we need to be more aware of how to completely detox & heal the body and preserve the beauty of the body .

I think social change is more important now then ever , I think with all recent police brutality & unjust we need to come together & utilize all resources to actually make a change, a difference. We need to not only use our voices but we need to use are actions , until we actually make a difference . Support one another, respect one another .

Bio:

“ImúLu Tea is a tasty healthier choice of herbal teas to supports immune building, using herbs such as lemonbalm, sage, thyme, rosemary, ginger, lemon, & margarom. From there I continued to research varies herbs to enhance your immune system without having to use prescriptions or over the counter medications.

The back story of the birth of ImúLu Teas:
Over the years growing up I would over hear the elders around me speak of home remedies, but I never really understood at that age what it was. Some of those basic remedies stuck with me as I got older but my real life change with herbs began when I had my last child in 2017. At the time I was breastfeeding her and came down with flu like symptoms and I did not want to transfer anything unnatural to her so began researching natural ways to cure myself of home remedies.
I came across lemonbalm, sage, thyme, rosemary, ginger, lemon, & margarom, threw them in a pot and made tea that I drank over a three day span, whilst drinking water and soup. After that my flu like symptoms disappeared. From then on I carried tea with me in my “moonshine” mason jars every where I went; school, work and around friends and family. It was only after those who tried my teas and encouraged me to sell them because of the taste and health benefit, that I began to contemplate selling them!! I hesitated for a while but then I gave in and Lulus Magic Teas was born. After two years and some thinking I decided to rebrand my business to be more welcoming and versatile. After a local Kansas City artist offered their services to help enhance my logo, I began brainstorming ideas. Unable to make a decision I showed my sister the different concepts. She asked what was significant about my teas? I told her about a one specific herb that I use in every signature tea that supports immune building which is where “Imú” came from and I also wanted to keep my childhood nickname “Lulu” and so we came up with ImúLu Teas!! So here I am now sharing with you, your friends, and family my love for herbs and tea!
So come with me on my journey and discover the magical properties of herbs. You will be surprised at what we have access to in nature all around us. Herbs have been used since the beginning of time to aid in the well being of many of our ancestors, those that came before us. I am honored to pass on this knowledge and make herbal tea better accessible for all!”

Yoga For All & Social Change

To bring about social change WE, TOGETHER can start with a simple smile. Showing love and respect to everyone you encounter can go a long way. Being kind to those that look different than you, holding a door, helping out a neighbor, speaking to a stranger in positive ways. It doesn’t take millions of dollars to do this, and it won’t change over night, but I believe these little steps that we make can make a big difference.
Yoga to me has always been a way to release stress, pain, or worry. To reground myself and calm my spirit. I believe yoga to be an essential part of life that is universal and can fit into ANYONE'S life style.

Yoga, meditation and healthy eating are keys to centering the mind, which is the core connection for the body and soul as we all navigate and support the transformational times in which we live. Wylde Olivia Inc. is a Black owned business that embraces this transformation through the use of our Sea Moss infused products. ABOUT WRAP

“Support and comfort is just a breath away”

Being a yoga instructor and a practitioner for over 37 years, one learns to straddle the fence of vulnerability and comfort.  The balance between student and teacher resonates to create a sense of familiarity with our experiences in a parallel life- in essence I feel what you feel. We are all connected.  I am forever reminded that “Sometimes the teacher must become the student".

As I share my lessons on and off the Mat, I'm quietly asking for your permission to guide us into the expanded heart from one yogi to another by releasing the emotions stuck in your hips, grounding your feet so that you might stand a little taller each and everyday.  It is my hope that these are lessons to keep us moving forward in life, creating a place of forgiveness in our hearts and quite possibly a breath of enlightenment which can signal that sound of Ommmm!!!!!

Let us exhale out the old so that we may inhale a brand new life experience of comfort within ourselves by embracing a safe space to practice our understanding of compassion.

I created THE WRAP as a symbol of our practice.

The comfort of THE WRAP offers us a unique style to dry off the sweat of which we earned while on the mat. THE WRAP has the added  convenience of wicking and length which makes getting in my car and not having to deal with the sweat we yogi’s often are confronted with after an intensive workout.

"I love wearing THE WRAP after class because it is so soft and cozy! It's better than my hoodie"- Yogi practitioner and student Melissa Simpson, Long Beach

"I noticed that when I wear THE WRAP, I feel protected and safe... easy off and on- it's perfect for my practice!"- Yogi practitioner and student Mr. Rogers, Long Beach

THE WRAP is created with a cotton/ chanel fabric which took over a year to accomplish the right blend. It comes in 5 different colors, and is great for men, woman and children. It’s also perfect for the pool and the beach and is especially designed for the needs of our senior citizen family.

Enjoy THE WRAP- you’ve earned it!

Embodied Resilience Through Yoga - The Book

Embodied Resilience Through Yoga - The Book

image1218

Hi my name is Carmen Inocencio and have been a Master Reiki practitioner for over 3 years. As someone who works with other people’s energy flow, it’s important for me to cleanse and ground myself. I definitely do it through Reiki but equally importantly, I do so through meditation. Someone asked me why I made malas versus purchasing them - with the all work from setting an intention, designing its layout, picking out the crystals/semiprecious stone beads to use, to the sit down process of stringing (and often individually hand knotting each bead). Here is why. As someone who meditates, it is important to me to have a mala that I feel connected to. When I first started mantra meditating, I knew I wanted to transcend my meditation process, so off I went and purchased a mala from anywhere. They served my purpose at that time but I felt I needed to understand the process of the energy that went into making a mala. For example, how many knots should I use to close a mala, how many rounds should there be when I make the tassle...so much to learn! From there, I felt that to better match my energy and intentions for my meditations, I needed to make my own malas...and WOW! Such a transformation in how connected I was to the energy flow of my meditation process. Whether it was meditating verbally or in silence, my connection with my spiritual and higher self was heightened.   So I made more malas for myself. From there, others asked me to make malas, bracelets, and  other items for them that connected with their needs. What I found was that by making these items, whether for others or myself, it was another way for me to connect. Another form of meditation. I was able to quiet and slow my monkey brain and just zen. This is why I make malas and other items.   Connect with Carmen via:

Happily Nappy’s CEO Racquel Matthews has always been obsessed with skincare; Diagnosed with eczema at a young age, she was always looking for ways to keep her skin moisturized, and to prevent it from cracking. Most Soaps, lotions and detergents sold in stores would irritate her skin and make the problem worse. After doing her own research, Racquel begin to understand how to treat skin with a lot more love and care, she understands that skincare truly starts from the inside out. She stopped buying lotions and hair care products from big box stores and began to whip up her own hair and body butters in her own kitchen! After developing a consistent regimen of cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing she began to notice a big difference in the problem areas of her skin.

After being laid off during the first wave of the pandemic, Racquel not only perfected her previous recipes of Hair and Body butters, she also taught herself the art of soapmaking. Months of small batching soaps led to her creating the perfect bars to help battle not only her own skin issues, but even those of her friends and family as well.

Happily Nappy provides all natural soap bars to help with overly dry, oily and acne prone skin we even make baby soap. Soaps with no added fragrances or colors, made with only organic butters and essential oils helped launch Happily Nappy into a brand that provides quality product to those in the community.

MindShakers - Daily Ritual Affirmations

MindShakers - Daily Ritual Affirmations

MindShakers - Daily Ritual Affirmations

image1224

#MindShakers is an addicting self improvement game that is played with a set of dice and uses the concept of bridging the conscious and subconscious mind together to be unified and in agreement through consistent daily ritual affirmations.

#MindShakers was created by Anissa & Nils Lawrence who came up with the idea out of necessity. After many years of practicing daily affirmations, they found themselves trying to come up with ways to make the practice fun and exciting for their kids to enjoy also. They needed a game! Something simple that you could put in your pockets and play anywhere, at anytime! So it was one morning while Anissa was laying in bed doing her daily ritual affirmations that the idea hit her! A pair of dice that you can roll and be assigned your 2 Daily Ritual Affirmations to focus on throughout your day! The rest is history!

#MindShakers, when practiced daily, has actually been proven to be even MORE effective than regular daily affirmations! (For best results, practice both!) The key is the #FOCUS. When you repeat your affirmations to yourself each day, it is a great way to plant the seeds and nurture your desires into fruition. When you roll your #MindShakers and #FOCUS on those 2 chosen affirmations for the day, you start to notice the all important #EVIDENCE is everywhere and all around you. This concentrated #FOCUS and constant recognition of #EVIDENCE builds your new found mindset’s foundation to be unbreakable!

#MindShakers even takes it another step forward with The Rules of The Game! You can play around with them for fun or you can utilize the Incredible Power of the Universe even faster and more efficiently using these additional powerful techniques meant to enhance your manifesting progress! Play with another person and you REALLY enhance your progress! If you follow the Rules of The Game, not only are you receiving your affirmations for the day, you are proclaiming these truths out loud AND following up with physical action! What’s that do? It shakes up your mind is what it does! By simply repeating affirmations quietly in your head, it remains a very private, essentially invisible practice lasting only a few minutes (out of a 24 hour day.) When you are #MindShaking, you are rewriting your new narrative all day long! You are saying it out loud which brings the invisible thoughts in your head into the real physical world in the form of an Audio Vibration that can be heard, recorded and played back! This powerful technique (when played with 2 or more players) also adds another dimension of accountability! When you tell yourself your going to start tomorrow its like a tree falling in the woods, but if there’s somebody there to hear you say it, it just got real! If you just left it there you already improved your practice! But let’s add another dimension of #EVIDENCE! This technique has you scour your mind and daily experience for real proof that when you said “I AM”, you were serious and now you can back that fact up with already accomplished physical reality experience! And finally…the final step of taking action! This just takes your affirmation, which is your desired future, gives you #EVIDENCE from the past that you already ARE what you proclaim, and asks you to take a moment to bring it all full circle by executing an action in the present moment, that combined altogether, shows you that since you already were, and since you already are, your subconscious mind has no other option than to believe it to be truth. Once this occurs, the Universe starts delivering you your new life experiences according to your focused intent to become first, the energy of that which you desire, put together with a disciplined practice, and wah lah! You’ve just Shaken Thine Mind!     Get your MindShakers at http://dra.co/

Our goal from the start was to create affordable stickers with a good message. Right now there is so much going on in the world and we all need to try our best to educate each other and spread awareness. Our stickers promote female power, equality, environmentalism and women’s rights. Our community is full of strong and talented women who help us promote and create our stickers! We choose to donate stickers each month to children’s schools, hospitals and global fairs/ virtual events. We are so thankful for the support we’ve received, if you’d like to support a female run small businesses make sure to check out our Instagram @stickyfeminist
